BLACK PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS, CAN WE TALK ABOUT YOUR PANDEMIC EXPERIENCES? 
 

My name is Dr. Dawn M Dow, and I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am doing research on Black parents’ and caregivers’ perspectives and experiences with law enforcement, healthcare, education, employment, housing, parenting, and work and family during the pandemic. I am also interested in learning about Black parents’ and caregivers’ experiences and perspectives navigating the period of enhanced attention to structural racism that occurred during the pandemic and its aftermath. If the following applies to you and you are interested in participating in this research, please click on the link below to determine your eligibility. 

 

• 18 years old or older,

• Raising at least one child aged 0-18, or up to 21 if enrolled in school and living at home, during the pandemic 

• Have a household income between $38,000 AND $270,000

• Willing to share your perspectives and experiences related to employment, healthcare, law enforcement, educational institutions, housing, parenting, family, and work during the pandemic and its aftermath?

• Willing to share your perspectives and experiences on navigating heightened attention to racial inequality during the pandemic? 

 

The interview time commitment is approximately 1 to 2 hours. Participant will be sent a $25.00 Amazon gift card as a token of appreciation for their participation in the research.
